The much waited holiday trip is finally here... & it's lil Haygen's maiden holiday & flight trip! Yippy!
Don't want it to be a tour package, prefer to customised it, hence F&E, but don't want to be too tedious in travelling, especially when I'm travelling with MIL & baby Haygen, so I chartered a driver through out (ex though!)
Nonetheless, as long as everyone enjoys, I think this is worthwhile, & yah, this is my MIL's first visit to Taiwan too.
Air tickets
SQ878/879 (2May 1155 / 7May 1745)
SQ promotion: $600 for each pax
Haygen's (<2yr old) : $218
Total airfares: S$3,218
Travel Insurance via NTUC income: S$130
Itinerary (Taoyuan --> Yilan --> Taipei):
02 May:
reached Taoyuan airport around 6pm ==> Transfer to Jhongli Fullon Hotel(Coach fare NT800, 1N hotel NT6160)
Check-in, took a cab NT100 to the night market, but alas pouring! & the restuarant we are eating in is "flooding" omg..
one of the worst rainpour in these weeks.. so "lucky", after dinner, head back to hotel (so difficult to get a cab there)
03 May:
930am, check out & proceed to Window of China! (coach fare NT800, WOC tickets are inclusive for the adult, Rayden's NT399)
We were there from 1030am to 4pm, of course, Rayden enjoyed the most, he was asked up on the stage, and participated in a show with the clown cum magician, so proud of him, he's able to be on stage without fear. hehee..
Baby Haygen was sleeping most of the time.. Then we headed to Yilan (Coach fare NT2800)
to YiYiBuShe MinSu (2N stay NT4200). After check in, took a cab to LuoDong Night Market (Cab fare NT 170)
04 May:
POURING since morning, no choice but changed my itineray.
11am to Yi-long Farm, quite small & as it was raining, well, wasnt as fun as expected. But Rayden get to feed milk to the piglet, & got chased by one of the "runaway piglet" haha hilarious.. he dumped the milk bottle & "run for his life" .. haha funny sight!
around 1230, left the place & went to Luna Shopping mall, since it is raining, a shopping mall is the best place to go.
Had lunch & the kids went to the Yukids Island (like the Singplay in T3), while we shopped at Carrefour.. haha ... then 5pm, we head back to our minsu... MIL & the kids are too tired, so hubby & me went to Luodong night market to pack dinner for all. Life in Yilan, kinda of slow. hahaa
05 May:
930am checkout from minsu. A good sunny day! Popped by to DongShan River for a look, then proceed to the GREEN EXPO (11-1230)then head to Taipei ...Shifen (to see the lantern & lunch), then Jiufen (Huang Jin waterfall), RaoHe Night market, Taipei 101 then to HanShe Hotel (2N stay NT6560)at Ximending.. (coach fare NT5000) .. At night Hubby sneaked out to watch FA Cup Final, Liverpool Vs Chelsea.. to Zhong Xiao Road, I wanna tag along but Rayden dont let me :(
06 May:
Longshan Shi, CKC, YangMing Shan, lunch (NT1300) then brought MIL for her first hot spring (NT250),hahaa stripped naked, that why I didnt go w her.. shy mah.. if alone I'm ok hehehe... then to DianShui, Fisherman wharf, MIL & the kids are too tired, Hubby & me proceed to Shilin Night market on our own via MTR. Finally, I got some time to shop.. hahaa .. Then to Carrefour (yes, again) to get milk powder, the Bros finished the new 900g in just 5 days.. hahaa... (Coach fare NT4000)
07 May:
R&R at XMD, originally plan was to the Living Mall but everyone was too tired.. just R&R until our departure time at 3pm to airport (Coach fare NT1100).
Total Coach fare: NT800+800+2800+5000+4000+1100 = NT14,500 (S$625)
Total Accomodation: NT6160+4200+6560 = NT16,920 (S$728)
Cash S$2,500 (didnt spent all)
Total spending: S$3,218+130+625+728+2500 = S$7,200 for 6person (Hubby, Myself, MIL, Rose, Rayden & Haygen)
Conclusion:
The trip was enjoyable but tedious, because I've made fully packed in the must-see sights.
Baby Haygen enjoyed the trip but fussed as usual when he is sleepy. Ok on the plane, and wants to walk around & flirts with the air crews.. hahaha. ... Rayden enjoyed the trip the most I guessed, coz he's of the age that able to appreciate.. hahaha
MIL, I hope she enjoyed her first trip in Taiwan, but she complained of the crowdiness of the night markets and the long travelling time in the coach.. hahaha Taiwan Island is too big unlike Singapore...
A very important learnt.. Work permit is extremely important for domestic helper. As i wasnt told to bring along the work permit but only the travel visa to Taiwan, I had quite alot of troubles and hassles with the immgration. Luckily, we could proceed as normal with some quick
thinking and contacts..hahaa....
