Sembawang Park 6 Feb 2010

Finally, made another attempt to bring Rayden to the beach..
He love playg with sand castle, the last time was i think 1yr+ ago, when we brought him to Sentosa during his 2nd birthday *guilty*..

Well, my impression of Sembawang didnt change a bit! It's still as dirty & smelly.. I regretted the moment i saw the beach...Yucks..
But since we are already there... just do it!

Rayden, most of the time "self-entertained" himself.I will go play w him a while, then head back to clean myself.. While Daddy even worse, taking his camera as an excuse, he managed to keep himself out of water & sand...

But haa not too bad, a bunch of foreign workers gathered and played with Rayden shortly.. haaa ...He made 6 frens.. haa

Afterwhich, we head to Swensen for our Sunday Brunch..
Tat's our lazy Sunday..

Day1: Sgp --> Tokyo
Haa cant believe, only the 4 of us, 3 adult, 1 kid, we got ourselves 4 check-in luggage + 2 hand luggages. I seriously think we could not get a single normal cab to ferry all of "us".
Thankfully, we have Uncle "Roti" to send us there with his Stream, not 1 way, but will be 2 way also.. hee.. how nice.. this type of fren, good fren!! LOL... Really appreciate his efforts.
The flight is 1140pm@ Terminal 1 with JAL, but we are "forced" to check-in by 930pm.. Haa..Coz Dynasty want us to visit their premium lounge at T2.. Haa...
Nice place indeed, quite a good spread of light snacks there.
But also there's the place where Rayden accidentally spilled a cup of hot milo onto my jeans.. Urrghh.. Gotta stay in the toilet, luckily it's nice, for ~15mins to clean myself up.
Our 8hrs flight to Narita Airport... Snooze...

Day2: Tokyo --> Chitose --> Asahikawa
Arrived at Narita Airport around 8am (+1hr). We are then directed to a coach to ferry us to the domestic airport, Haneda.
Our flight was suppose to be 1030am, hence we lingered at Starbucks and have our breakfast.
Check into the domestic flight at 10am+, who know due to the bad weather, the flight was delayed for about 2 hrs.
In the end we reach Chitose airport (Hokkaido), only at 2pm. And we are already starving!
Picked by our tour guide Henry (a Hongkie), off we proceed for our Shabu Shabu Steamboat.
Another fews hours ride to Asahikawa, check-in to our Hotel Crescent Asahikawa, then off we go for dinner (from own pocket).
We had our Ramen & Gyoza dinner, then shop over at that district. But, the cold was too unbearable for us, we headed back to the hotel to rest for the day.

Day3: Asahikawa --> Furano --> Sapporo
First stop of the day, to Otokoyama Sake Brewery Museum, this place have a history of 330years of history, brewing the best sake in Japan.
I personally do not fancy sake, myself & Rayden are busying playing snow outside the Museum.
To the Asahiyama Zoo.. Once into the zoo, we are lead by Henry to line up to watch the penguins march. Wow, it's already almost full of people.
We managed to get a slot near the end of the queue. After around 20mins wait, the Penguins finally here.. wow, they are really adorable and huge.
This is the first time I get so close to the penguins.. hee... Rayden enjoyed too, and he was constantly playing with the snow while we were waiting for the march.
Eventually, he complained of coldness when the snow wet his shoes/gloves, the Ski gloves I bought for him, were a little too big, but it's already the smallest pair.
We stayed in zoo for around 2hrs, i think this is the shortest duration of zoo visiting. Haa...
Lunch at Furano... Where we suppose to see full spectrum of flowers during Summer..
As it's now Winter, we only get to see some Lavender in the greenhouse, and able to smell them..Hmm...soothing..
Had our Lavender Icecream too.. not bad..
Next, the most exciting part of our tour.. hee the Snowmobile! Hubby & me went for it, while FIL babysit our precious Rayden.. so glad to hv FIL around :P.
heee.. while waiting, Rayden threw tantrums, the shop keeper let Rayden have a feel of snowledge, as per my FIL..hee..
heee...the snowmobile was great deal of fun, we enjoyed so much..hee..
Dinner was Grill buffet, we ordered Kobe beef.. yummy! Grade A 10000yen, Grade A 7000yen.
Proceed to Odori Park after dinner, night time with wind blowing & snowing, Rayden cant take the coldness, I grabbed him n run back to the bus for shetler.
End of the day. This nite, we spent at Hotel Korakusen.

Day4: Sapporo --> Otaru --> Jozankei
First stop of the day, Nijo Fresh Seafood Market. This is where i got my scallops.... the big scallops for cooking porridge,4600 yen .. tidit scallops, 200 yen per pack.
Whereas the dried scallops is 4600 yen.
Then we proceeded to the Jinggu to pray for good health.A visit to the Ski olypmic, then to Asashi beer..Yummy Beer!
Next stop is the fairy tale like Ishiya Chocolate Factory. It's beautiful and their chocolate bisuits are yummy...White & Nice..
Then we proceed to another town, Oatru..it's muscial box & muiscal box & Musical boxes..Simply gogerous!
Had the famous yummy 5 layer icecream, but well, only had 10% of it.. I had a fall bcos of my slippery boots..
The famous Otaru canal, it reminds me of Swizz... abt the same view.
Then again our sahsimi lunch..we ordered the big crab, costing 21000yen, and sea urchins and scallops.. YUMMY!!
After the fulfilling lunch, head to our first onsen nite in Jonzankei, Onsen resort Shikanoyu).

Day5: Jonzankei --> Noboribetsu --> Jigokudani - Lake Toya
Date Jidai Mura.. The town of Edo period, it's a really beautiful place, old traditional houses you would see and the
folks dressed in tradition customue. Interesting..We get to catch a Ninja show & have our lunch there.. It's really an
beautiful sight, esp with the whole town covered in thick white snow.
After a full stomach, we proceed to the "Hell Valley"...A smelly place..coz of the sulphur..could see steam ooze out
from the mt here & there. Time for bear feeding at the Bear Ranch.. we could buy some apples or cookies to feed those big brown bears..
They are all waiting with mouths wide open.. Our last stop would be Lake Toya, it's freaking cold, the wind keep blowing at us non-stop.
But it was a beautiful sight, seeing the Lake Toya & Mt Toya.. Our onsen resort for the nite, Toyako Manseikaku is juz infront of Mt Toya.
We could get the scenery rite out from our window.. This is where I had my first dip too.. and Rayden's too, he went with his Daddy of coz.
But the water was too hot for him, he juz stay w Daddy while Daddy is having his hot dip.. hee...
It's refreshing, though was quite embarrassing to see naked bodies..

Day6: Lake Toya --> Hokadate
Today is the last nite of our trip.. To Hakodate morning market, then have our lunch there..Yummy..I had my sea urchin again.. i love it..hee
Admiring the day view of Hakodate from Goryoukaku Tower.. Well, been to too many towers.. haa dont really have much feelings.. but yup, it's nice.
Next to a old red brick warehouse, this have been restored to a chic waterfront dining & shopping area. The Hakodate Factory Akarenga.
In the evening, during sunset, we are board the cable car to ascend to Mount Hakodate. This is the chance for our to capture the spectacular nite view of
Hakodate city. Our nite ended at Onsen resort Takubokutei, hot spring again!

Day7: Hakodate --> Haneda --> Narita --> Sgp
The last day is all about travel by bus and by air....
Home Sweet Home to Sgp!

Rayden's first movie 3 Jan 2010

Rayden's first trip to the theatre.. Went for the 1020am Alvin & the Chipmunks show at GV Yishun.
Had breakfast at Burger King before the show.. Rayden is so happy & active.. Well he didn't exactly enjoyed the show, guessed was bored at some moments that he told us that he wanna go home.
He talked quite loudly that we gotta "shh" him ..
Overall, it's enjoyable.. Oh ya, he's already tall enough, gotta get him a ticket though he didn't even exactly warmed the seat for 10mins.. Haa

New Year Eve 31 Dec 2009

Another year passed in a blink of eye....
Year 2009 wasn't too bad for me.. Well, I'm the happy-go-lucky type, perhaps I juz can't remember any unpleasant happenings. Hee..
Anyway, I rather contended with my life, except the part that I didn't manage to get pregnant sucessfully with my #2. Nevermind, there's always time for it, shall work harder.. :)
Okay, I hope year 2010 be a even better year for us all .. Great health & happiness to all my dear family members & friends!!

Had dinner with the usual gang at Tanglin Mall..
Proceeded to Jane & Andrew's lovely house for games.. A few rounds of "wat am I?" & Taboo (sg version).. Fun fun fun .. A battle between the sexes again.. We enjoyed so much & so glad that Rayden did as much...
In the first minute of year 2010, we encountered "Sightings".. Haa.. Burst of red "fireworks" lookalike painted the skies for about 20min..we still couldn't figure where & wat were tat ..
With some wine & mudpie, tat marked the early hours of our 2010.. Reached home around 2.30am, Rayden had already dozed off almost the moment we board our car haa..

Xmas 25 Dec2009

This year Xmas celebration with the same old clan is rather a simple & quiet one.. Run out of innovative idea ..but nonetheless, it is well spent with our close frens.. Next yr onwards, more kiddos be joining, eventually it'll be a kiddo xmas party rather for us adults..hee.. waiting for tat day, coz Rayden is quite bored being the only kid tat nite.. haa...
So, it's the Xmas Dinner @Buckaroo + Wii Party @our place.

This year, Rayden get to be the Santa Claus, to decide who get which gifts.. ANd of coz he's the winner of all, he got the most pressie...

Hee.. i am quite proud, to know that Rayden love the gift I chosen for him..hee His own private house.. LOL ...
good & bad... now most of the time, he "escape" from us to run into his "Safe lil house"... it's so tough to lure him out!!

Dec Activities - XMas Lightings & Mall shows!

I guess I am even more excited than Rayden.. haa.. Decided to bring Rayden to attend those cartoon character shows.. I have been lazy all these years, never bother to bring Rayden for such shows..hee
Finally, decided to move my fat butt & get going ..hee I think Rayden is gg to enjoy them!

Hubby just got his new toy, a Nikon D90 from AudioHouse at Suntec Hall. We got it slightly above the cheapest retail price, but with the less than $100 more, we actually got more freebies,which is rather worthwhile, like the tripod, dry box etc..
Hubby is so excited with his new toy. We have been outside filming the xmas lightings, during mall shows and during gathering... Hee.. BUT BUT BUT.. up to now, he still havent download them to our PC. Hence no sample yet.. These pics are from our Panasonic Lumix LX3, the quality is good, but the zoom is nothing great.

Mall shows:

Barney & Friends (5-Dec Sat 2pm)
Proceeded to United Square after Rayden's Berries Class. Reached there around 115pm, oh gosh the queue is already so long, I gotta turn round & around to find the tail of the queue, but while searching, I saw Charlene & family.. hee So of course I jumped queue :P
Little Rayden & Charmaine & her cousin enjoyed the show.. though they are not as enuthausatic as other kids, they are the cool gang. Hahaha
But I personally feel the show is nice, their songs are so catchy.

Bob the Builder (6-Dec Sun 7pm)
Suggested to have dinner with my pa & mum @Jurong Point, actually got hidden agenda, I wanna watch the show.. hee Reached there around 640pm, as expected, cant enter only more. Hence we linger around the area & watched.
But it's rather boring, luckily I did take the efforts to queue for it.. Hee.. After the show, we proceeded to Din Tai Feng for dinner.. yummy!

SpongeBob SquarePants (12-Dec Sat 7pm)
While i collect my iphone at Suntec Convention Hall, the rest of the folks accompanied Rayden to watch this musical.. don't know much abt this cartoon, but joined in the fun since we were there..

Hi-5 Muscial (13-Dec Sun 1pm)
This is definitely the best shows among we hv watched..more lively & interactions.. Even myself enjoyed..Worth the 1 hr wait.. but haa i do not wish to go thru such hassle again next yr ...
Hubby wasnt free tat day, he dropped us there then proceed to his own events. Picked us up ard 4pm then to 313 to mit up with my parents to explore the new shopping mall. Hee.. Nice mall!

Xmas Lighting@Orchard 28-Nov Sat
Dinner with the gang @ Aston's @Centrepoint.

Merchant Court Buffet - 4 Dec2009

My first Xmas dinner this year.. Thanks to lovely Jazz for asking me to join, it's a fun fun fun dinner.. and thanks my darling Santa, your gifts are indeed so thoughtful!! notty gal! hehehe.... But really thank you.. Like it alot..sui sui sui!
Altogther 11 adults and 3 kids.. We had it at Merchant Court...Well, I think this is the 3rd time or the 4th time there, I must say I get more & more dissappointed each time. With the 15% discount from HSBC, it's about $38 per pax.
Well, the food is so-so, the variety also so-so, they did not replenish timely. Well.. Overall perhaps 6/10 (I'm being quite nice). I hope this is the last time I'm gg there for buffet.Not recommended.
But it's not about the food.. it's the accompany I had on tat day, it's fun, though I hardly know them all.

My Lovely Santa ....

LOvely gifts...

Rayden is 3! @Bottletree Park's function room (14 Nov 2009)

Such a busy day for us.. After sending Rayden for his Berries class, we hurried to Daiso & get the decorations for tonite.
Then to MIL's place, for Rayden's lunch & picked her & 2nd BIL up to proceed to our home.

At 430pm, me, hubby & FIL went to the function room to do the deco... phew! we finished the deco around 6pm.. Just in time! Went home to pick our baby prince & rest to the function room, then hubby proceeded to pick up the cake with 2nd BIL...

It was drizzling tat evening, luckily no thunderstorms, but due to the bad weathers these days, a lot of our guests could not attend due to unwellness... Same for us actually, we are all not feeling 100% well.. But am so GLAD, that things went well as planned, except we got tonnes of leftovers food...
Thank you again for all our guests, and for your well wishes & generous gifts! :)

Grand total: ~$1k

Rayden's Playgroup Graudation (13 Nov 2009)

This is one of the most anticipated events.. hee..
Rayden's performance... This round, it is held on a Friday evening.
Teacher Lynn & Chua put up lotsa efforts once again, I am very pleased with their performance, but i thought last year's was cuter.. hee...

As usual, Rayden scored well on his report card, comments given by Teacher Lynn.
Rayden is well-liked by his peers. He is very caring & helpful towards all. He is always eager to participate in his classroom activities and does his work well. Good Job!

It's quite a good nite... but these weeks, all of us including Rayden had slight fever & flu... we are all quite tired after the long nite..

Rayden's birthday at Skool (11 Nov 2009)

Original plan was to celebrate Rayden's bday on Friday, but due to his graudation ceremony on Friday, unable to do so, likewise on the Thurs, coz they are having rehearsal. Hence Teacher Lynn suggested Wednesday. Good and fine, the intention of this is to juz let the kid and his frens have some fun. I think Rayden will and did enjoyed this mini celebrations with his classmates. Both me and hubby took half day AM off from work. Got a simple cake, this is chosen by Rayden, wat else but cars again.. hee.. Then "armed" with 16 goodie bags & camera, off we go to the skool. :) Did a birthday song singing, cake cutting, gift bags distributing, tat ends our simple celebration at the skool... oh..and ya photo takings :) All done within half an hour. Rayden did have fun! so glad! Wat else do I expect.. but a happy smile from my darling boy.. :) while waiting for teachers to set up the tables...pics taking w his good fren, Jiale & making faces.. the cake that Rayden choose Cake cutting & song
